Summer Rock Week

The Summer Rock Week

In order for this to happen we need boys and girls who:

  • like to listen to their music a little loud
  • are able to make a lot of noise
  • want to get involved in music groups
  • can bring your own instrument of choice; Drums, Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, or Vocals, but don’t worry if you can’t, we have loads
  • like to perform loud music in front of a live audience

Criteria

  • The Rock Week is for boys and girls from 9 to 16
  • You don’t have to be a good musician. But, you will need to have some skill
  • It’s a very busy, hectic, exciting week and all you need to bring is enthusiasm and want to enjoy a week of absolute mayhem!
  • EVERYONE is included.

What do we do each day?

Mornings – you’ll be expected to make a lot of noise, scream and shout!  You will be involved in a series of high energy, hands-on, specialist activity workshops, tailored to your needs and designed to develop key musical skills.

Afternoons – you will work with others to devise your own small group performance, putting into practice what you have learned in the mornings.

Performance

The week will end on a real high as you perform your unique show to an eager and enthusiastic audience of family and friends. Whether you’re on stage or operating the lighting, whether you’re an extrovert or shy, you will have your own role in putting on a one-off performance to demonstrate to other people what you and your friends have been doing.

Who’s doing it?

The week has been devised and will be led by Ossia Music School who have clocked up over sixteen years’ experience of creating and delivering high-quality performing arts projects in theatre venues, schools and halls across Northern Ireland.
